About Us-”Call to Arms”
On behalf of our 2012 Denver Chapter Board of Directors, we have selected the theme: “Catholic Leadership – A Call To Arms.” As leaders in business and in the community, we want each and everyone of you to ask the question “What will I do, not just to live my faith in every aspect of my life…but to fight for it.”
The 18th Century British statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke said, ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’
We are being attacked by the media, attacked by our legal system, attacked by those who seek to taint our Church, attacked by those who seek profit from our Church, attacked by other religions and attacked by complacency of our fellow Catholics. There is even complacency in our Catholic schools and in our colleges. Our board, our programming, our events and our chaplain are all focused on re-igniting our leadership to fight for our faith. We cannot afford to ‘do nothing’ in a year of significant change for all of us. In 2012 we will see a new Bishop in our Archdiocese, the roll out of changes to our Mass and the election of a new president in our Country, to name but a few. In 2012, more than any other, let us be guided by the Holy Spirit to touch all those we interact with the power of our Catholic Faith. Let’s be proud of all the GOOD that Catholicism has done for the whole world, over the last two thousand years.
So please join us, not just for the wonderful dinner, speeches and meetings, but make that extra effort to join us for Rosary, Confession and Mass beforehand. As importantly, please let us make a difference in taking what we discuss back to our businesses and back to our communities. We are putting the finishing touches on our 2012 programming schedule…please watch this space.
I would like to give a special thanks to Sam for serving us so wonderfully in 2011 as our President. He has been a shining example to all of us of leadership with humility. My thanks also to Paul Dudzic, for his continual guidance as ‘Past President’.
May God continue to bless each and every one of you in everything you do. I am humbled and honored to be your President in 2012 and I am proud to be Roman Catholic.
