In the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ, His Church and His Vicar on earth, Legatus is an international organization of practicing Catholic laymen and laywomen, comprised of CEOs, Presidents and Managing Partners with their spouses as equal members, from the business community.
To study, live and spread the Faith in our business, professional and personal lives.
Our threefold purpose is to:
Study: Ongoing education is at the heart of Legatus. We are matching members, who have a thirst for knowledge, with the most profound and convincing body of religious knowledge in the history of human thought.
Live: Translating the teachings of Christ and the social teaching of the Church into practical applications helps our members become eminently pragmatic about their faith.
Spread: Legatus is the Latin word for “ambassador”. Our members don’t typically wear their faith on their shirtsleeves. They spread the faith through good example, good deeds and high ethical standards.
The Denver Legatus is an active chapter of Legatus International and has won several awards at the national level for excellence. The chapter enjoys a well-rounded monthly meeting that includes rosary, mass, social hour and an excellent dinner speaker. Our members enjoy the benefits of:
- Peer Support
- Spiritual Growth
- Full Spousal Membership
We welcome you to explore membership with us. Please read the following message from our first chapter president, John Saeman:
Message from John Saeman, President Emeritus
Legatus of Colorado had its founding at a luncheon in the fall of 1999. Tom Monaghan came to Denver to meet with three at large Legatus members. Jim Leprino, Mike Sullivan and I were those members, and at the meeting we agreed to start a Chapter. We became a Chapter in March of 2000, and were under the protection of St. Francis of Assisi.
Legatus has been a great blessing for Carol and I, as well as many others. We consider our participation in Legatus, both in Colorado and nationally, to have been a wonderful journey in faith. The major benefits have included growth in our faith, and seeing the joy in fellow members as they participate in the journey.
I challenge you to get to know us and join us. It may be the most important decision you will make for your marriage, your family and your soul.
